The Sleuthhound is an easy-to-use Personal Document Search Tool, which operates like a Web Search Engine on your hard drive. Create 'Search Zones' with a 1-2-3 wizard. Folders and directories and entire drives can be included and automatically updated in search zones. Searches can be done by keyword (one, several, many), or by using file path or dates. Boolean searches and use of wildcards are also supported. Keywords are returned instantly with the location in document, and the document title, file-path, icon, folder location and keyword context. Results are displayed in an internal browser. View multiple occurrences of search words in the results browser. Advance to further keyword occurrence also available in the internal viewer. Single-click opening of documents in the associated application. Easy maintenance and update of search zones is available through a built in scheduler and can be done automatically when Windows starts by placing The Sleuthhound in the Start-Up group. Configure program to use many European languages. Configurable results browser and new copy text functions, save search option and favourite searches added.
The Sleuthhound has a simple to use interface. Specify the Search Zone with targetted folders for search, enter the keyword and clicking "Find it" produces an instant keyword result and the located documents in the browser. Shareware version returns searches for TXT, HTM, HTML and MS Word documents and Outlook Express mail folders. Users may upgrade to Professional version to obtain further document search capacity via plug-ins. Pro version will search for RTF, ANSI and ASCI text, and many other docuement type files via universal converter. Additional plug-ins for the PRO version support WordPerfect, Adobe PDF, Excel, PowerPoint, MP3, MHT and Extended HTML file types. All result displays are configurable. Configure program to search many European languages and display results with all accented characters.
